Thank you very much for this suggestion. It worked with a Sony Vaio PCG-Z1XSP with XP Pro SP3 (c. 2004) and a Logitech V270 bluetooth mouse. For some reason a V470 mouse would connect before the fix, but not the V270. I am not sure what the ‘Allow system to interact with desktop’ does though, and I left it unticked.

I had tried many versions of Setpoint software including the latest 6.15 but could not find any bluetooth connection assistant. In the end I reverted to 2.47 which worked.

I do not fully understand the Microsoft / Logitech stacks…it just works so many thanks.

I searched several times over several months for this solution only to get very complex guesses at how to fix the issue. This works great and only took about 1 minute. Thank you. This fixes the issue for bluetooth keyboard HID access denied issues. Thank you for posting the solution. Now if Google would just promote it to the top of the search for bluetooth access denied.

I tried to follow Microsoft’s solution to this and nothing. You solved my problem! I wonder how often I will be wasting time trying to figure out why my Bluetooth devices stop working – probably that’s why my co-worker stopped using his and that’s how I got his receiver to use with a new keyboard… what a pain.

This looks promising. Does it work if it is the connection with your bluetooth mobile phone too?
When trying to “Turn Discovery On” in my Bluetooth Devices windon I get the error message that Connectivity Settings and Visuability Settings has not been saved.
I cannot see where to set these things though.
